Dosages

Estratab, Estrace, Menest: 0.3 mg to 0.6 mg daily in a single pill.

Menostar: 1 patch delivers 14 micrograms (mcg) estradiol daily for a week.

Potential Side Effects

Bloating of stomach; breast pain; increased breast size; nausea; swelling of feet and lower legs; weight gain.

Special Instructions 

Apply patches to clean, dry skin of lower stomach area.

Take tablets at the same time each day with a glass of water.

Be Aware

Women who have not had a hysterectomy should take estrogen with progesterone. Before taking this drug, talk to your doctor about the possible risk of heart disease, breast or uterine cancer, blood clots and other side effects.
